At Calvary UMC, we value every human being. The care and wellness of souls in every age and stage of life is a top priority in our faith community. You will find that Calvary UMC is filled with people who care and nurture one another—especially in times of crisis, illness and death. This concern flows from hearts filled with compassion for others. We are intentional about visiting and keeping contact with our homebound members. We also make sure that those facing hospitalization, persons facing surgery or treatment, and persons recovering from illness or accident are remembered by prayers, cards, calls, and visits. We always respect the wishes of each individual as they are facing these situations.

Our Congregational Care team meets regularly to share the joys and concerns of the congregation. In our Sunday bulletin, we list those persons who have asked for our prayers, and we pray together as a community of faith. The Congregational Care team also plans for other aspects of the community’s well-being including: defibrillator training, blood drives, living wills, caring/listening education, and visitation ministry. Congregational Care is part of the culture at Calvary UMC where we respect and honor ALL of God’s people.

As we work together in this vital ministry of Congregational Care, we remember these words of Christ: “…Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to Me.”
